Should we agree to an induction at 36–37 weeks or keep monitoring?

Hi everyone, my wife is 34 weeks pregnant with our third child, and at yesterday's appointment, the doctor found that her amniotic fluid has dropped quite a bit (oligohydramnios). The baby is still moving, but the fluid level measured an AFI of 4.8 cm, and they said the placenta may not be working as well as it should anymore. The specialist gave us a few options depending on how the next scan looks: continue with twice-weekly monitoring (NSTs and ultrasounds), receive steroid injections if early delivery becomes likely, schedule an induction around 36–37 weeks, or have a planned C-section if the baby's heart rate or blood flow becomes concerning. My wife feels fine and we'd hoped to avoid an early delivery, but the doctor recommended induction if the fluid doesn't improve. Has anyone here gone through something similar? Did you choose to induce, or wait with close monitoring? I'd really appreciate hearing your experiences before we make a decision.
